What are timber floating floorboards?

Floating flooring refers to a type of timber floorboard that does not need to be nailed or glued to the surface layer. Floating floors often operate with a tongue and groove, which click together, making the installation process quick & easy. 

One disadvantage to floating floorboards is that is cannot be easily sanded or polished.
