What's the difference between a single and double cylinder deadbolt?

A single cylinder deadbolt refers to an external door lock that needs a key to operate externally and has a small snib to operate on the opposing side.

 

Keep in mind that a single configuration is the most common external lock function.

A double cylinder is needed to lock and unlock the product on the external and internal sides. A double cylinder is perfect for added security.
